TADpole Playground at the Boston Common

The TADpole Playground opened on Boston Common in 2002.  The Highland Street Foundation sponsored a complete renovation – including a state-of-the-art rubberized safety surface, an exciting multipurpose play structure, and frog-themed statues and artwork – transforming an underused 1970s-era playground into an imaginative and safe play environment for the children who live in and visit Boston.

Holly McGrath, a Highland Street Foundation trustee, spearheaded the effort to create the playground in loving memory of her father, David J. McGrath, jr., co-founder of the foundation and founder/owner of TAD Resources International (hence TADpole Playground).  The colorful river mosaic just inside the playground’s gated entranceway is called David’s Place in his honor.  In recognition of Holly's efforts, the Friends of the Esplanade Playspace honored Holly at their First Annual "Women at Play" Reception; click here to read more.
