2009 Summer Celebrity Reading Series
The TADpole Playground will sponsor its sixth summer-long series of reading events in partnership with ReadBoston between Thurs, July 9 and Thurs, August 13. This year’s series will be inaugurated with the ReadBoston Storymobile Kickoff on Wednesday, July 1 at 11:00 AM. Mayor Thomas Menino and friends of ReadBoston will host the kick-off event along with the Highland Street Foundation, which supports the TADpole Playground.
The subsequent reading events take place across six consecutive Thursdays at 11:00 AM: July 9, July 16, July 23, July 30, August 6 & August 14.
Every event has a rain date scheduled for the Friday immediately following, also at 11:00 AM
Each event will feature a different local celebrity reader or storyteller who will entertain the children with stories intended for audiences between the ages of three and six years old. All events are free and open to the public and children in attendance will receive one book courtesy of ReadBoston on which to begin building their personal library and a love of reading.
